2004 521VX RANGER TRAIL SLOPPY SWING AWAY TONGUE

The swing away tongue on my Tandem Ranger trailer is very sloppy on the hing side of the swing away tongue. There is about 3/4" up and down play and it's making trailering uncomfortable too. It jerks the truck on certain bumps. The hing pin is not accesable. Seems to be welded on. I am afraid that this pin will eventually fail. I've just replaced the entire A60 receiver/master cylinder as well. I've searched this forum but cannot find any solutions other that to weld up the swinging tongue and move on LOL. Any ideas??

Grind down the weld, remove the pin and replace with a bolt.

Mine is/was the same way. I purchased new bushings from Ranger and it helped a lot but I have not touched the hinge side. Get both the bushings and replace the hinge pin.

I was contemplating doing just that. Not sure if the holes are elongated. I guess if that is the case, I'll get someone to weld the holes a bit smaller and redrill to the correct size?
