So I borrowed my neighbors 17p prop and the boat jumped up on plane no issues. Hopefully I don’t have any other underlying issues. It’s hard to understand how the previous owner ran the boat with this prop.

be surprised at the people that have never had the right prop or a good prop on thier boats and dont know any diff and think that the dealer or person the got it from had it set up right , its a shame most dont get full performance from thier rigs and dont realize it

With the 17p what is your wot speed and rpms? Sounds like that is a good fit.

I found the max rpm to be 5600 after some digging. Won’t rev it that high again. Oops
Max WOT rpm for your standard Optimax is 5750.
