USA New to hyd jack plate

So I have a Skeeter zx225 with a Yamaha SHO 225 that has been flashed and runs great. It came with the standard 12” manual Slide Master jack plate with the factory settings 7 dots showing. Boat does everything I want and more. I just put an Atlas Hydraulic plate on and have never used one before. Questions are many but seat time will answer a lot. Starting tomorrow. 1. I had a dealer install the Atlas digital gauge. Goes from 0-20. What number would be equal to the manual jack plate setting that was awesome? 2. I assume the water pressure needs to be 15psi or a little higher when running wot? 3. I assume it’s ok on the Sho to run kinda hard with the motor low and tucked? 4.Fishing a night tourney on a really rough lake (boat waves) leave the motor down low and tucked to run rough water? Oh and lastly, why the 6” ruler on the plate itself? Not sure what it’s measuring quite honestly.
Thanks for your help. Up here in Northern Illinois it’s run 70+ in 4’ of water on the Chain or Lake Geneva which is deep but rough with Cobalt wakes. Hence Hydraulic JP.

First, don't be surprised when the gauge fails in three months, most do.
Good news, that measuring tape does exactly the same thing.
90% of the time, you'll never move it. With your regular fishing load, go up a bump at a time until you lose speed/lift/water pressure, then back a bump and mark that spot. Even mark the ruler. That's where it needs to be 90% of the time. If it gets really rough, bump it down so you don't cavitate, if you're in a shallow back water area and idling around, run it up. Not rocket science.

Agreed. The gauges aren’t work the headache. They fail regularly

Thanks for the advice. Glad I bought the gauge! On another note just fished the Wednesday nighter and Geneva was rough. A tucked hydraulic plate was WAY smoother ride for sure.
