    New to Me 520vx

So friend of a friend had this boat, got a decent deal on it, wasn't really looking but it worked out. 2000 Ranger 520vx with a 225 Optimax and new Ulterra 80# (Minnesota guys ). It's a nice upgrade and hopefully lasts a while. My oldest is going off to College and plans to do College Fishing so it should work for him for that and it'll be my main boat, if little man lets me use it...

The look and ride of the 520VX boats is amazing. Before I purchased my 521vx we test drove a 520vx and that boat did everything well. You are gonna love being in that boat. Congrats!!

My buddy has an 2004 520VX. Excellent boat. I have a 2008 Z520. I like both boats a lot. His deck layout is a little different, but both boats run well and fish amazing.

The 520's are a great ridding and handling boat. Looks like you have a few things to fix/replace but hey, it's 20 yrs old !! If you got a good deal, then good for you !! I'm sure your Son will put it to good use, lol !!! You didn't say how many hrs are on the motor. The 2000 Opti has a few issues. Mainly, the water tubes. Be VERY sure to warm it up when it's cold outside before you hit it to go on plane. #6 is bad about seizing if not.
