    Trailer back up light

My port side trailer backup light went out last week. I assumed it was the LED light! I ordered a new one plug
it up and nothing! Check the voltage and continuity they are perfect all the way back to the plug! The new and old LED lights work on the starboard side of the trailer. I cleaned and checked the ground wire for the light still no backup light on port side! Any suggestions??

You say you have power to the plug, right ? Try the new light in the starboard side to be sure it works. I suspect it is the ground wire. Check for voltage on the plug POS and NEG. Could also be a bad plug.

All lights work on the starboard side! It is a 3 prong plug could only find 2 prong at E-trailer!

Your trailer plug is a 3-prong or the back up light is ? it should only be a 2-prong !!

If you're talking about the light plug in, two prongs is all it takes to operate it. one side to ground, the other to (probably) a blue wire.

The 3-prong plug is for the Tail Lite, Brake Lite, and Turn Signal. The Back-Up Lite is a 2-prong plug only.

Some backup lights are the 3 prong style but only use 2 prongs. Depends on the light used.

LED's are polarity sensitive. In Chinese, black and white are almost the same character (JK).
