Smaller spook rod
Would a 7/4mh be to much Rod for a spook jr?

Depends on the brand. Not if it’s a G Loomis, they run soft. Most others I’d say yes.

A lot will depend on action of the rod imo. If it’s a moderate or moderate/fast it should work fine. Though for me 7’4” would be too long of a walking bait rod for me and I’m 6’ tall. I have used a 7’2” for that application but prefer 7’

I prefer rods under 7' for spooks. I have a 6'8 MH Falcon Jason Christie rod for Jr spooks and Fitzgerald Bryan Thrift 6'9 heavy skipping rod for larger spooks.
