For years I was into competing with hunting dogs and kept training pigeons at home. I had homers and also shooters. I kept hundreds of shooter birds over the years. I must admit that I really enjoyed them. It was kind of fun to go out every day and feed, water them, etc. It was not fun however, on coop cleaning day. I had three coops; one smaller one for the homers and two larger ones for the shooters.
We try to get a good pigeons shoot in every once in a while. They get so over populated at farms around here the farmers love it when we shoot them. We use decoys and layout blinds. They come right in.
