HDS Gen Two Dying?

Tuesday I noticed what I thought was a ball of baitfish on my HDS7 bow mount. But that ball about the size of a dime never moved or went away. It's at the top of the screen almost center. Looked dark brown on the water but black now. I can even see the outline of it faintly on the screen on the acceptance screen. Are we in the e/r with a poor prognosis or is it a fix. i know it's old, came with the Triton I purchased going on 3 years ago. Any ideas to correct or is it heading for the grave yard in short order. Thanks in advance guys./gals.

I can't answer your question with any confidence but methinks it's about to give up the ghost. Gen 2 huh ? I would call Lowrance and see what they say. Not sure they will service it. I have an old gen 1 HDS7 on my console that I have my fingers crossed that it holds out until I can replace it. I will be switching to bird for the console. Hope you get yours cleared up.
