HDS Gen Two Dying?

Tuesday I noticed what I thought was a ball of baitfish on my HDS7 bow mount. But that ball about the size of a dime never moved or went away. It's at the top of the screen almost center. Looked dark brown on the water but black now. I can even see the outline of it faintly on the screen on the acceptance screen. Are we in the e/r with a poor prognosis or is it a fix. i know it's old, came with the Triton I purchased going on 3 years ago. Any ideas to correct or is it heading for the grave yard in short order. Thanks in advance guys./gals.

Could be dead pixles, if the dark brown is the same as your screen looks when turned off. Technicaly it is possible to fix this with a "new" screen, but you would need another HDS to pick parts from.
