    New Otisco Lake Ramp

DEC announced the new Otisco Lake ramp opened today to the public. 13 parking spots for trailers and 13 passenger car spots. It’s good to see there’s a public launch there now.. one of the reasons I never fished it is to avoid the campground launch.

Always good to have more public access. It’s on the SW side so you have to drive around the bottom of the lake but it looks like it’s only 8 minutes, which is well worth it to avoid the marina launches.

Also with only 13 spots I assume they won’t be allowing tournament permits.

Right the marina and campground launches are both tight and steep... plus have to park across the road or in road at marina

Always used the marina launch no issue if you get there early. Park right on side of road. Seen the new launch looks nice 13 spots though.. would have made less passenger car spots and went with more trailer parking supposed you could always unhook and take 2 spots.

We tried the new launch this past Monday, nice site, but not sure if it was worth the $622,000 cost, a few other lakes would have been a higher priority for me.

Did they just improve the hand launch site or is it a new location?

not many..it fills fast 12 or so. Its a weird setup too.. lot of money invested for a tiny area. Ill stick to the marina or campground launches.
