    Throttle Help

First, I just wanted to start out that I am petty new to boats, But I have operated several over the years. I recently purchased a 1993 Bass Tracker Pro 17 that needs some interior work. As I am doing the work, I started to mess with the throttle/gear lever and can't seem to figure out how to disengage the shifter/lower unit to allow me to give it throttle for starting. Any other boat that I have messed with allowed the operator to take it out of gear and move the throttle forward for starting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, there is usually a button on the handle down at the bottom, center of round part (hub), you push in and then throttle forward.
You may need to pull in the shift lock button at top also.
