    Prop for G2 115 HO

Looking for recommendations for a spare/replacement prop. Currently running a Vexus AVX 1880 with the G2 115 HO and with a full load, 2 guys, full fuel, and tournament load of tackle, I'm typically in the mid to upper 40's, have touched 51 coming with the current (Mississippi river), with the RX3 14.5x21.

Just wondering if anyone else has any recommendations to maybe break 50 consistently?

Before a prop change give the guys more information on wot rpm and engine installation. Where is the AV plate in relationship to the keel. Something as simple as raising the engine one hole on the transom may get you there. You have a great prop in the RX3. Elgin may stop by and add more specifics.

WOT RPM varies between 5600-5800 depending on load. I'd have to look to see what hole it's mounted in.

    Thanks for the feedback.

You are not bad in the WOT range. Let’s see where the installlation height lands.

It aint me, that is the back of someone else's coconut.
And those aint sunglasses, those are safety glasses.

I lived over there for a few years.

That was the first Vexus boat ever built, one day it was flat sheets of aluminum piled on the floor and a couple days later we were running it up and down the lake. Was a lot of work but mostly it was fun, I miss those guys but still talk to them from time to time.

By the way, the G2 fuel and oil consumption goes down if the top RPM is around 5500.

    thank you - great info

my fitting dealer was spinning the line of 'it will rev out to 6100rpm - so seeing 6000 is great'

hmmm - not the advice of tech experts whose advice I respect.

    Cheers

So my motor is mounted in the top bolt (lowest) directly to the transom.

You engine needs to be raised to be in the 3rd or fourth hole

    yep Elgin e is right

    - i also posted on the EOG pages

    I went from a 15" pitch RX3 to a 19" trying the 17" on the way through.

15 inch was way under propped - had trouble convincing the dealer as he said DI motors like to rev.

Borrowed a 17 and night and day difference to the 15 and still revved to over 6000.

Got a 19, with more fuel and 3 blokes revs to 5600.

With many voices (uniformed at that) saying they like to rev and must see I was skeptical that a 19 was the way to go and now I am so happy with the choice.

The 19 made the boat feel more lively, with lower plane speed, more WOT and generally a bigger smile

My only hesitation - I now want to back to back test, the 19 and a 21
