    Merc 200 will not rev

    I have a 2015 Merc Optimax 200. Recently the motor will not rev above (appx) 2500 RPMs. There is no alarms going off. It idles fine. I am hoping to get some advice that may save me a trip to the shop. Unfortunately, I am not very experienced in troubleshooting so any advice and (great) detail would be much appreciated.
