    Speed on 2007 cougar, w/250 merc ProXS

    Friend bought a 07 BassCat cougar w/250ProXS. What kind of speed should he be looking at in realistic numbers.

    There are a lot of variables lower unit 24v are 36v but mid 70's to low 80's is not uncommon.

    I have had 4 Cougars a 7,8,9 & 11 models all with 250 Pro XS they ran 76-82 depending on load & temp.

    Around 80mph. Depending on load and set up.

    Thanks Folks, That is what I thought. First I will send prop off to be worked by Mark, as is a little rough. Then I will work on getting jackplate right height. Then I will try to help him learn how to drive it. Old farts are really hard to teach anything to though. But I am no Spring Rooster either anymore.
