    T-Stat Dump Hoses

Have an 07 pro xs 225 1B446525. When running on muffs the starboard side dump hose is hard and the port side I can squeeze it together with my fingers and feel very little water flowing through it. This is after it reaches 129* and t-stats open, temp falls to 116 and after a few seconds climbs to 123* and stays there. Is this normal or should both hoses be the same? I'm seeing 123-127 running at speed and water pressure 5-6 lbs lower than normal.

Both hoses should be DUMPING water, when the thermostats open.

Might want to check for blockage at the lower fitting (in the adapter plate) on the STB side. Have seen a couple get chunks of wood + vegetation caught there.

Should both stats be fully open and both hoses hard and flowing while idling on water hose?

Yes, IF the motor is at or above the thermostat opening temperature.

Thanks. merc monitor temp went to 129* and temp fell to 116* when stats opened. Few seconds later climbed to 123* and stayed there. Ran on hose for 10 mins and never changed. Thats when I felt both hoses. Just wasnt sure if both stats would open on water hose.

Is there a way to test the water pressure sensor? I'm not getting consistent readings.

A precision air regulator capable of regulating air pressure from 0-30 PSI in 1 PSI increments, could be connected to the sensor to verify the readout. These types of regulators are expensive and not readily available locally. It might be cheaper to just replace the sensor. Generally these sensors are accurate, so is though your readings are inconsistent, they are probably accurate.
