    Wayne a Question Sir!

Is it possible for a Solix 12 to damage a transducer from a power failure?
With all the on lake testing I did with HB, they are now saying they believe
my transducers are bad and units are fine.

A sonar transducer is a combo speaker/microphone. It broadcasts sound and detects the return echoes.
A unit power failure would not send any voltage to the transducer so it can't damage the transducer.

There have been defective transducers included with units and replacement is the remedy sometimes. You won't know if the unit is faulty or the transducer is faulty until you test with another transducer or test the transducer with another unit that is proven to be OK.

I think the unit swap/transducer was done last time.
So they are sending the units back along with a 2d shoot-thru.
But that does not explain where the DI went on the helm Solix 12.
I bought the XTM 14 HW MSI T for the bow. I don't think both transducers
could go bad at the same instance. Anyway I will follow their process and
test with them on the lake after I get the units back.

God help me if I have to replace the 2d shoot thru. I just might let the shop do it
this winter and I'll run a temporary install in the bilge with water covering it.

    Thanks for your answer!
