What is the value of a 2009 Ranger Z21?

2009 Ranger z21, low hours 250 Evinrude that has never had any problems, jackplate, Lowrance electronics, 3 props, cover...all in great shape. My son is looking to buy his first ever bass boat and seriously considering this one. Ball park value anyone? Any thing to be concerned about?? Seller is a friend so not too concerned that he is going to cover-up some problem.

$30,000 is the ballpark. Very solid engine and hull. Anything might happen on a 12-year-old boat, but if the seller is a friend and vouches for the running condition, that’s as good as it gets.

Correction: I should have said earlier that $30k is the high side, but it may be worth it, as you say that it is in great shape. However...if it’s a 2009, that would be a Z521 instead of a Z21. Might want to check the year, which is easy to do. Facing the rear of the boat, the hull ID number is stamped on the right side, just above the water line. The last two digits are the year of manufacture. A really clean Z521 of that year is typically listed at or around $30k, and it’s a seller’s market right now. But I have seen some posted at lower prices—not sure of their condition. And my dealer here in Ohio has a 2008 Z520 with the same engine listed at $22,995. Food for thought.

2009 could be a Z21 last year..I want to say they made the Z20 up to 2010..and they made the Z21 intercoastal up to 2014...introduced the Z520 intercostal in 2015.

    Z521 Debut was in 2010

Using a zip code from your town, NADA (base) valuations are $27,440 - low retail and $31,390 - high retail.

Good catch, guys. I got tunnel vision thinking about the Z520 debut in 2008. My memory failed me this time, especially given that I went to buy a Z20 in the fall of 2010 and it had just been discontinued.
