Good place to test a boat out near Maple Grove?

Looking at a boat saturday like 8am, seller said there is a lake 30 minutes north of them to go to. I'm coming in from the south, any place you guys would recommend west/southwest of Maple Grove to test out a boat that is a quick in and out?

    Thanks for any help...

You coming during the weekend? Minnetonka is right there but it will be an absolute sh!t show if your try and go there during the weekend. Maybe Waconia, or Lake independence?

Medicine Lake in Plymouth is bigger where you can air out a boat (to a point), but you'll need a $5 or $6 ramp pass, whatever the cost is now.

Thanks guys, I figured Minnetonka is out... Doesn't need to be a big lake, just to get it on plane, won't run it a ton just get it on the water... I'll mention some of these to the seller. We're trying to get on the water by 8am or so and get out quick...

I live right near Fish Lake and it has very limited boat parking spots (10 trailer spots) that normally fill up pretty quick on a Saturday unless you get there early. Can be quite a wait to get on the lake. Medicine Lake is your best bet for getting a parking spot that is nearby. Otherwise I would suggest Lake Independence.

Minnetonka at 8am on a Saturday would not have any issues. Starting around 10am the ramps start getting busy. By 11am it starts getting crazy.

Minnetonka has a 40 mph speed limit.

My suggestion is the Mississippi River below Champlin. There's a launch at Mississippi Point Park. Go downstream and there is plenty of water to run with no worries. Do not go upstream past the Ferry St bridge.
There was a time that I didn't fish but I cannot remember it.
