    Standby modes

Should my units be in standby mode? Why or why not?

If your fishing with no partner place the console unit in standby when your on the bow fishing this way you save power and when your ready to make a run to don't have to wait for it to boot up

Same goes for the bow unit when you get ready to make that run

Standby is also a quick fix for me when my sonar locks up just place it in standby for a couple seconds and when you bring it back out the sonar is working again

The main benefit is saving power but in some installations it may also prevent crosstalk issues.

Something I have noticed with my gen 2 helix 10. Standby does nothing but dim the screen. I may have a problem, but fishing in these hot bright sunny day's. While I have always put the back unit in standby, In the sun I can see the depth reading everything is working only very low light. latest firmware update.
