    Best rod around 100-130?

Looking to get a few new rods but with a budget right now.
been looking at Lews TP1 speed stick and lews TP1 Black speed stick.
any thoughts on these or something in this price range to consider?
    thanks.

x2.. I have a Lews TP-1 sitting on my rod rack collecting dust and hasn’t had a reel on it in over two years. The casting rods aren’t bad but I’m not a fan of the spinning rods. Uncomfortable handles, hate Winn grips (useless on spinning rods anyways), and just didn’t feel right imo.

id also recommend bumping up to a St Croix Mojo for 140-150 if you could swing the few bucks more. They’re better than the BassX. I do have a BassX and for the money it’s a great rod. Very sensitive and actions are true to their ratings

What are you looking to do with the specific rods? IMO I’d spend more on bottom contact rods vs moving bait rods

Just getting back into fishing after a long time away. Looking to get started again and need all new equipment as everything I have is old. So basically looking for all purpose casting rods and will add more and get more specific rods and keep adding as I get back in to it but need a few rods to get started again. If that makes sense?
Thanks so far for the replies.

I would take a hard look at the Daiwa Tatula rods (the cork grip ones). They are very light and we'll balanced for the price point. Lots of variety in the line as well. Plus you get that Daiwa fit and finish.

I much prefer them over the Fury series just based on weight alone.

Absolutely Daiwa Tatula TTU series at the upper end of your price range. Those rods are an outstanding value for as much performance as they offer. Feel free to PM me for more information on them. The Tackle Trap offers BBC members discounts and knows how to match up which rods and reels you'll need for your intended uses.

+2 on the Tatula's....own several and they are great rods....bought the St Croix Mojo because of all the great reviews....broke 6" from the tip on my FIRST day with it lifting a 2lb bass over the side...maybe I just got a bad one...checked it over REAL good at the store for nicks before I purchased it.

Have owned several $100 rods. St Croix Gen 1 Mojo which is basically a Bass X, ABU Veritas, 13 Fishing Omen (original), Dobyn's Fury. The best $100 rod is a Falcon Bucoo hands down. Lighter and more balanced than the Mojo, better action than the Veritas, have never seen a 13 Fishing rod that didn't break, had a Fury SF703 spinning rod which was heavier than my ALX Zolo 7'6" Brawler and deader than a roadkill possum. Gave it away. Am a Phenix fan and my Bucoos are as good and maybe better than my M1 and Recon @ $180 range.

I agree with this. Been a Falcon guy for about 10 years. Haven't tried the newer Bucoos, but I've never heard anything negative about them.
I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.
