“ The rule was implemented at the request of the FLW Tour pro field and has been reviewed by the advisory board every year since. It has never been brought up to be eliminated.”
Kathy Fennal
FLW Executive VP and General Manager
You mean to tell me, that a $100,000 bass boat is not needed now? Dog gone it..
Help me out here. Who are these that are whiny cry babies that can’t handle losing? I don’t get it

The rule is clear and Poche has said it is his fault for not reading the rule.
Poche also said the rule is ridiculous. I agree.

Probably the ones who lost the Cup to Cox. The ones that only own 1 boat and it’s glass. The ones who couldn’t get their glass rigs to where he was catching them, even though they never even practiced near that area to even know it was inaccessible. Enough of them complained to get another rule.

That's why I can't catch any fish. Not enough horsepower.
Who Cares?
If you want a pig, flip a jig!!!
Guess you could call it the John Cox rule. Here is FLW's response.

all this whining coming from the tour that everybody gets a ribbon an paid to show up to boot.
It was a big issue to the rest of the field in that tournament they were upset there were a lot of torn up props and lower units....
The Second Place Finisher aka Winner of the Prop Division in that Tournament and some other participants were asked about it at a B.A.S.S. Seminar I attended after that tournament.
They were careful about the way the said it but were clearly not happy about it.

That also includes all those who often state there ought to be a "Rule" and when one of their Heroes doesn't read the rules and assumes then get's burnt for violating a rule that they personally should have been well aware of the "Whine Fest" begins.
Is it really a big surprise that an Activity that calls itself a Sport, has all the competitor's boats wrapped up like a NASCAR Car, the ones participating driving those boats are also clad in Commercial Covered Clothing sometimes wearing Crash Helmets and get interviewed afterwards to hawk their sponsors products would have some sort of parameters of standardized equipment?
The Rules Window for Boats on the FLW Tour is open mighty wide and sure seems pretty fair to anyone choosing to participate in their events and don't see any exceptions for anyone including top name established Pros who don't read the rules.
I remember Clunn fishing out of a tracker at a few tournaments years ago and started doing interviews preaching about expensive boats and not needing them and then not long after BASS made the one boat model for a whole season rule.
I think BASS changed their rules after Mark Menendez won.
