    VST leak

I have a 2 yr. old fuel pump that is slobbering like a rabid dog. Pump the bulb and fuel starts leaking out of the front housing, fuel pump side. 1997 150 efi sn 9633047994. Where the vst halves meet, appears to be no gasket. Should a gasket be seen between the halves? The motor starts fine and runs fine, when starting back up to move is where she struggles. I have to throttle in neutral to get it to start.

Can the halves be separated while on the motor or does the whole assembly need removed?
