Taking my ultrex off the mount question???

I am taking my Ultrex in to have some warranty work done and need to remove the motor from the mount. I was told that I can unscrew the hex bolt at the top off the motor and it would come off. I did that and it would not come off. Do I need to remove or adjust any other parts first. BTW, I have it almost deployed all the way. My trailer step prevents it from going all the way down while the boat is trailered.

    Any help?

Tie down the bracket as low as possible first,if not the piston will cause it rise up,forcefully. Remove the Alan bolt, you might need to grab the shaft and jiggle the bow guard in the bracket but it will come loose.

The SAFE way is to disconnect the lift assist piston with the motor stowed BEFORE you remove the motor from the mount.

    Need two #3 Phillips screwdrivers
