    VST Needle condition

On my 2000 model, I'm chasing an issue with the high pressure pump starving for fuel above 3100 rpm (surges). I've taken the VST apart (again) just to be sure and it looks pristine inside. I do have a question about the needle valve, though. Is it supposed to have a sharp point on it? Mine is blunted.

    No sharp point.

    Rebuild the pulse pump.

Will do. I've got a kit laying here for it. What exactly does the pulse pump do in such a high pressure system?

It fills the VST with fuel.

Wow. Doesn't look capable of that sort of volume and rate!
