    panoptix/black box

Do any of the Garmin chartplotters allow for the use of the panoptix without having to purchase the box?

    Well....the answer is no.

On the flip side, you have the LVS12 which is a LS ducer that will connect direct to the Ultra or 86XX series units. Just beaware that the LVS 12 gives you viewing angles.

What would be the difference between using the LVS 12 on those units without the box? Just curious, looking at getting into the Garmin and if I can save the money for the box by purchasing a pricier unit.
