    Another vote for the FG knot. I wrap the braid around a boat cleat and hold the tag end with my teeth to maintain tension while I weave the mono. Finish with a drop of super glue. Not necessary but seems to help going thru the guides. I try not to have to tie this one on the water.

    You guys are missing out if you don't try this knot. I've been using it for a while now and have caught numerous Musky and 3 Sturgeon using this knot. 10 lb braid to 8 lb fluorocarbon. I caught these 2 and the others I mentioned while smallmouth fishing. I'm just sharing that this knot has been very good to me and it's easy to tie once you've done it a few times and it goes through the guides well.

    I have used that drop shot knot ---So easy to tie , and hook always stands straight out like it is supposed too !

    I have no issues passing 20# TufLine XP/6# and 8# knots through 3.5mm and 4.0 mm guides. You hear it tick on the cast, but it doesn't affect distance.
