    Prop help

I have a 2020 Xpress X18 with a Suzuki DF140A with 6" manual jackplate. It came with a Solas 23p prop. It would hit 51mph, but was at 6400rpms. Tried lowering motor 1", but still over 6200 and a tad slower. So I got a Suzuki 24p prop which is also a 1/4" bigger. Im still turning 6350rpms and can barely hit 50.... I'm thinking the motor needs to go lower, but the ptp is already 5.75"...that seems like a lot and it was faster with the 23p at 4.75" and essentially the same rpms.... Im confused... Any thoughts?

Using GPS? The ambient heat also has an effect on speed.

Yes, GPS speed on two separate units Bird and Suzuki. I'm now thinking the motor is too and I'm hitting the rev limiter by trimming up too much looking for speed. I'm gonna go back up an inch with motor and new prop and see what happens.

Just watch your water pressure but it sounds like you're deep enough to be safe.
