    MPH Gauge

MPH is reading 0 constantly on the gauge. MPH is working on GPS but seems to be to slow for actual speed. Running a 16” Lowrance Live with no Point-1. Does having it going through the graph make the gauge not work? 2019 Skeeter FX. Had a 2012 FX previously and did not have this issue. Both read MPH. Other readings on gauge are fine just no MPH. Thanks!

The MPH gauge works off of water pressure, from the nose cone on the motor, and are very inaccurate. Usually always showing the boat 5 to 10 mph faster. These get clogged continuously. Usually a paper clip or small drill bit, but by hand, will clean it out. Your GPS is by far more accurate than any gauge will be, with or with out point 1. The GPS accuracy is the same, all the point 1 does is allow you to place the GPS info you are receiving over the transducer, and see your heading when under .6mph.

As stated above. Analog speedometer on a boat is worthless. Every bass boat has a fish finder/ chart plotter with GPS. Zero reason to have old analog gauge on a modern bass boat.

of course there is a reason for the analog Speedometer...it makes your boat “faster”!
