    Trim/Tilt gauge not working

I changed the sending unit, thinking that had to be the problem. Still get solid bars with the top bar blinking. Checked the wiring to the motor, at the plug the pink (or orange?) wire puts out about 4.5 volts when grounded to the black wire. Does anybody know how to test the gauge? Motor is an F225, 2004.

Is your cam lever plastic broken? Common issue.

No, like I said I changed the sending unit (which incorporates the plastic lever). I also checked the new sender with an ohm meter to make sure I didn't get a faulty one, it is working fine. I don't think it is the wiring to the gauge: the colored wire shows a small amount of voltage coming from the gauge (which I think it is supposed to) and the black wire grounds correctly. So I just need to know how to test the gauge.
