    Anyone Speak "Prop-ese"?

I have a 95 Evinrude Intruder that has a four blade prop on it with the following numbers stamped on the hub: "F7RXS2254024".
Can someone interpret these numbers for me? The boat(95 Ranger 482VS) gets on plane very quickly, but will only run about 47mph at ~4200rpms wide open and I am thinking this prop may be the issue. It was on the boat when I bought it 3 years ago and I have been dealing with other motor issues since then but finally have those all worked out. It has been suggested that I try a 22 Raker 3 blade and see how it performs with that.

    Thanks!

    Tom

Not sure what prop you have now but I would think you should be running a 24 pitch Raker. The 22 pitch may be right but you will have to run it and see what happens. If you motor is healthy you should be able to turn that 22 Raker up to 6K rpm. I ran a 24 Raker on my boats with a 150 Rude.

My dad had a 96 for a long time. He ran a 4 blade (shooter??). Not sure of the pitch. Great hole shot and shouldered loads very well. No problem reaching max rpm. I t was not speed demon. He is mark482vs on here.

Same results with the Renegade and now thinking the issue is not the prop. Will start troubleshooting the motor.
