Going to Nickajack the middle of Sept.

I fished it once 20 years ago. A small group that I've been tournament fishing with is there the middle of Sept. We are going out of Hales Bar. Is there any matted grass in the area?

YES. In September you should have miles of matted milfoil.

Indeed there was grass for days. I went down for a day to pre fish before our little tournament in a couple of weeks, about 12 boats. A bunch of old farts fishing during the week LOL.

We managed a limit today on frogs and Senko. Water temp was 84 on the main channel. Hopefully it cools off in the next two weeks.

Very Nice , What week is the TX? I normally take the week of my birthday off and take a trip down to Guntersville and Nickajack for a couple days around that time frame.

Thanks for all the pointers, we ended up with a limit by 8AM today. A couple of fish came on a rat, the rest came on a spook. They hit it along the main lake grass lines all day long.
