2002 Mercury 90 HP Salt Water

    2002 90ELPTO Mercury 90 HP 2 Stroke ser no - 0T527526

I was out today and for the first time since I had the boat, bought it 6 months ago, when I gave it the throttle to get on plane the little RED horn/buzzer under the dash went off. I throttled back and it stopped. When I got to the boat ramp and loaded the boat it went off again. When I got home I checked the oil tank on the motor and it had oil but was down to the add 2 quarts mark. I added 2 quarts, and am I correct to assume the horn was letting me know it was getting to low.

Where I'm pointing is the oil level. Still in a learning curve, all my previous motors I mixed the oil with gas.

Thanks, I put another shifter on the boat, it had a Teleflex with gen 1 cables and I upgraded to what was on it new. Got it from a guy on here and the only thing I did different was hook up the safety kill switch they had done away with, the black and the black/yellow and didn't know if I had screwed something up. It seemed pretty straight forward to me but you never can tell.. Thanks a lot for the response, feel safe now....
