Basscat cannot build enough Puma sts for the demand. It’s hottest boat on the market. At the classic it was a huge hit. Can’t wait to get one

I would say all brands have quality issues once in a while. I would consider how easy those issues are to fix and balance that out with what your willing to spend.

In your case I would go with Skeeter powered by a Yamaha and with a Minn Kota Ultrex. I have a 2003 Stratos 185 (Not made anymore) purchased new in 2003 with a 150hp Yamaha. No problems with either boat or motor. Replace my TM with a Ultrex in 2000 and is well worth the cost.

honestly, I think most all the current boats are built well. If I was buying today, I'd lean on Basscat then Ranger/Skeeter/Phoenix. Can't really go wrong in any of them.

If it were me ranking the quality of today’s bass boats, it would be Bass Cat, bullet, Allison, blazer. The rest are cookie cutters. I got inside of a Caymas the other day and was utterly disappointed. Quality was not there in several areas. I cannot consider any white river marine group boats worth a crap, I bought a brand new 2020 ranger 520 that came apart at the bulkhead and was busting through the side wall of the boat after only 14 hours. In the years before white river, marine group ownership, I would’ve considered it in the top three or four. I owned a 721 Phoenix and it was one of the best rides I ever had but it had some quality issues with plastic trim and old Timey switches, it got a little bit of water in the boat all the time somehow, and other than that, it was a good boat. I owned a 2021 nitro Z 20 pro for a while, and the trailer was absolute garbage and you needed a kidney belt to hit rough water but it was a fairly fast boat but I cannot consider Nitro in the quality column whatsoever. I understand that I ranked a lot of go fast boats in the top category but even though Allison and Bullet may not be your cup of tea for rough water or for tournament fishing, it does not take away from the build quality and the fit and finish, the resins and fiberglass construction used. Even though Bass Cat has priced itself just about out of the market, no one can deny the commitment to quality and customer service they provide. Their boats are fast and fun to drive. I did just buy a new 23 Cat so give me some time and I’ll know more. I’ve been around them for quite some time and I have driven one for quite some time which prompted me to buy this new one.

Seems like a personal grudge. Do you have personal experiences to back up that broad strong opinion? From what I’ve seen in my limited experience Ranger still makes an excellent boat. I know customer support over the past 15 years of dealing with them has continually been excellent.
