196 Elite. What size shaft on a new Ultrex?

Hey guys, I currently have a 196 with an older 101 Minnkota maxxum with a 52 in shaft. I'm going to upgrade to the Ultrex soon. Are any of you running the 52 in Ultrex? Was wondering if it may be too big for my 196? Thanks!

52" for sure. 45" comes out of the water when it's rough. I have the same boat w/ a 52" ultrex. Went from 52" maxxum to 45" fortrex and quickly back to 52

52" on my 2001 champ 196 and never look back. I fish offshore 80% of the time
