    18 ft xpress help

I purchased an X60 with a 115 four stroke Yamaha. It is topping out at 41 mph with a yamaha 1k prop, no jack plate. I’m adding a 10” jack plate and was hoping for PTP suggestions starting out and some input on what I could expect top speed. I read of people getting 51 mph. Is that realistic for me to expect? Thx

What prop are you running? I had an h56 w/115 Yamaha, 21p & 22p props, a 6" jackplate, and 4"ptp. At its peak it would hit 50 and would run 46+ any day. 51mph on that rig is definitely doable, but high 40's is more realistic day in and day out. A 10" jackplate is going to be a lot on that boat...it's gonna sit nose high.

My H18 runs 46 and best was 48 with an aluminum 21p no plate. F115 is my engine.

What is your pad to prop? I know mine is set way too low.

Would a 6” jack plate be a much better way to go?

I have a H18 with the f115 and a 6” jackplate. I have run 51 by myself and mostly 48-50 with 2 people. Ptp is 4.75” which may be a little low but this prop does not like to run higher. It’s a older powertech 19p

I had an X60 in 2001 and I remember it having 24" sides compare to the H56 ( 2000 model ) that had 22" sides. My guess is that the X60 might be a little heavier than the H18.

A Turbo prop runs good on the F115 and should perform very well at 3"-3 1/2" PTP.

My last Xpress was a 2018 H17 with a Yamaha 90 LB 4 stroke and it would GPS at 46 mph with a 17" Turbo.

Have an X18 Pro with 150 SHO AND 6” Jackplate. I have ran 58 mph at 5600 rpms and normally run 4200 rpms at 42-44 mph.
