    Taking up Xpress floor

I own an Xpress X70 and I’m 99% sure I have the dreaded wet foam. I plan to take as much of the floor up as I can as an upcoming winter project. With the way EVERYTHING is welded in these boats, am I compromising structural integrity by grinding the welds off and popping the floor up to take a look? I would most likely use a pneumatic gun and structural rivets to put the floor back down....unless of course I’d be making my boat flimsy....thoughts? Advice?
    Thanks

It needs to be welded back together. It is part of the structural integrity of the boat.

Thank you guys. I wish there was an easier way to dry out wet foam but I keep hearing is the only way is to just dig it out

Why is the foam wet? Sounds like you have bigger problems.

I bought this boat from the original owner who left it outside it’s whole life under tarps not a good cover.
These older ones had a lot of unsealed areas where water would drain into and get trapped and eventually
the foam would start to soak it up. Older Xpress hulls had issues like this
