Anyone have experience on this boat with the 225 ? Looking for pro's and con's. Thinking about upgrading to this model of Triton

I have a 2015, 225 pro xs with all the bells and whistles. I fish big water, small water, great around docks, 72mph running a 25p tempest plus.
Easy to trailer, easy to store. The 5 years I've owned it, I have never though about should I have bought a bigger one.

Does me fine, lots of storage, big front deck, I always have the wife up front fishing, and it's a dual console.

    Enjoy

Jebass, what is your setup? I have a 2018 19trx Patriot with a 225 ProXS 2-stroke, 24p fury, 112 ultrex, hydraulic jack plate and two blades. I am getting 67-68 mph. I feel like I should be getting 72 like you. What is your ptp? Any tips would b much appreciated.

I run a stock 25p tempest plus. 3.5" ptp, 10" manual jack plate. Half tank of fuel. 112 ultrex and 4 battery. Gotta drive it after 68mph. I can get 72.
i don't have poles, I fish deep water most days. Water temp on lakes play a factor, I don't run wide open to often, but when I do, it's 72 on a humminbird gps.

Have you ever ran it with a 24 3-blade Fury?

Tempest plus prop gives better lift and performance on that hull

Lots of bow lift for sure. Never tried anything else, Dealer has lots of experience and recommend that. Buddy runs same boat with a 4 blade trophy plus 25p, Says good acceleration, however runs 67-68. Also great boat control in rough stuff
He also tried a fury 3 blade 24p and never got over 70.

I may just be lucky on my setup and performance.

I have a 2014 19XS with 225 ProXS with a 24 Tempest and hydraulic jack plate. It’s a great boat, good ride and it runs. With a half tank of gas, 2 big men and all our tackle I have run 73mph on the GPS in 70 degree temps. If you have an opportunity to get a 19XS, I suggest you take it.....just sayin

Sounds like I need to try a 24 and 25 tempest.
