Phone died. Cheap Chinese replacement battery that never was quite up to snuff swelled up and I got it out of the house in a safe place. In a couple days I'll probably see about finding one of these local since I've heard good things about it. Been thinking about getting a new phone the past month or so anyway and I guess I got too greedy. roughly 5 years is a pretty good run for a $50 ZTE Compel.

Got the Moto E6. It's fine. Have no need for all the latest features and memory for a hundred apps.

Moto G7 Power. Holds a charge all day long while wife and kids are running around fighting over chargers for their iPhones. Moto G7 Power cost me about $200 from Verizon.

Also have a Moto G7 which was about $200 paired with Cricket Wireless for about $80 per month for 2 lines. That is truly all I need. Can not justify long term contracts and "Financing" a $1,000 phone.

Seriously though, things started really going downhill after it fell off the butt seat in the boat and battery fell out when the cover popped off. Was waiting on a call from dad to let me know he was pulling up to the ramp so I could go pick him up and wanted to make sure I didn't miss his call. All for the better because I've hated this ZTE phone pretty much since day one for various reasons but too cheap to buy a new one when the one I had was an otherwise perfectly good reliable phone.

I ended up with a Samsung Galaxy a10e. Seems to be a pretty nice phone and starting to get used to it. I put the 400 gig mini sd card from my separate digital music player in it and this phone is far superior in terms of bluetooth audio but my Fiio m6 player set the bar pretty low for bt audio so...just need to make sure it's not using data when using Google Play for my personal collection on the card. Like with anything new there's a learning curve but at least I got another Android based phone and not a Windows based phone, hehe. Refused to look at an iPhone of any kind for personal reasons that are more silly than anything. Hopefully I can get a few good years out of this Samsung. Not even sure if you can replace the battery in it like I could with all my previous phones to extend the service life of them. Friend of mine is hard on phones and swears by the Galaxy line of phones so figured I'd give it a shot. This is my first true smart phone.

Guy I work with is still using an old iPhone 5 that his wife handed down to him. It's old and on its last leg but they do seem to be good phones. Takes GREAT sunrise pics and bet he has a few hundred of those alone!
