Question 2021 VF200 SHO Pee Stream?

I would greatly appreciate some guidance on a brand new 2021 VF200 SHO. I am seeing a realtively weak pee stream. I ran it for the first time for 8 hours yesterday, followed the breakin guidance, and even from the first start while idling, the pee stream flows, but not with the pressure i am used to seeing from my old 2 stroke merc. When on plane it doesn't increase in pressure. I checked many times the temp of the water coming out of the stream it was relatively warm but not burning hot at all, so i don't believe any over heating was taking place. It was a hot day yesterday, 90's lake water temp 75.

I just wanted to share the two videos to have a professional opinion. top speed was 54. so i think the jack plate is set properly, and the red line on the lowerUnit you can see in the video while on plane would suggest the intakes are properly submerged. Am I crazy for expecting more water pressure on a new motor? or are 4 strokes like this?

Unfortunately, that's bout right for the SHO. They don't pee like a mercury.

The other thing you might notice if you have a water pressure gauge is it will fluctuate while you're driving. Mine will go from around 9-10 psi to about 13-15 psi all the time while driving.

Looks about the same as my 2020 225 SHO.

Re: PSI - I get up to about 20 PSI @ 3-4K+ RPM but usually sits around 12-15 psi and almost nothing @ 1500 rpm and lower. No overheat alarms after 35+ hours.

It’s a low pressure high volume pump. No issue at all.

I got mine & like to went crazy when I saw that. I had a 250 Pro XS before & the force of that stream could take skin off. The Sho is almost a reverse system of the Pro XS. Yours is normal, like all of ours.....

yeah that does look a little strange ... must drag like hell to port. For reference I have a single Talon as well and it sits as high as it can go in the bracket.

My VF200 lower unit doesn’t look like the one in the picture. That looks like a 150-175 lower unit to me

I think it's actually the 25" XL lower unit. You can see the extra section above cavitation plate. The XL shafts have the side and nose pickups. I don't think the 150-175's have the lower pickup at all. Doesn't say what boat it's on but maybe a bigger walleye boat? If it was a bass boat it would have to be jacked way, way up for the extra length shaft. However, I think the XL shaft was only on the VF250.....so ???

Talon is so low, because it is a 15ft, and my garage door height is 83” I have to lower it to back it into my garage each time. :)
I have another question, I am up to 12hrs of breakin, I changed the oil at about 9hrs, and I have been maintaining 4000-5200 rpms for 10- 15 min periods to help heat up the rings, I noticed tonite, the engine for the first time at WOT the rpms went up to 5400. I never got that high during the first 10hours of breakin, even though I had the throttle maxed. Does that tell me the rings are set, and the breakin is progressing well? The first 8hrs prior to my first oil change I couldn’t get past 5250rpms.

The SHO should be near 6000 rpm. Either you have way too much prop, or throttle is not set properly.

Wow, That is good to know that 6000 rpm is what I should expect. I didn't know if this 200 model as i have heard is chipped back where the 225 and 250 hp which has the same engine, are allowed to get to 6000 RPM.?
