Unless you're fishing open water, the prop should be pulled after every outing. Check for debris behind prop, bent shear pin, and the slot that shear pin rides in. If shear pin is broke or bent replace it. While the prop is off, check the tightness of the two bolts. Slight tension will tell you if loose. Next, check the center shaft bearing if you have one. Make sure the retainer is pushing the bearing up tight. Should be done with TM deployed. Next, check where the head attached to shaft. If loose here it could effect the steering.
About twice a year, if you have a plug, take it apart and check the connections. Take the bow panel off and check the wiring at the receptacle.
When you plug the charger in is a good time to visually check, clean if necessary, all battery connections. Hope this helps someone.

Here's what I found behind the prop of the 74 Maxxum on my first boat. Previous owner(s) must not have ever pulled the prop. I fish pretty much all open water and try to pull the prop a couple times a year to check.

Treat others like you want to be treated when on the water EVEN WHEN IN A TOURNAMENT! No fish is worth having a confrontation because you cut someone off or came in on top of someone.

Being OCD about maintenance I pull both TM prop and engine prop religiously.

I fish a lot of heavy stick lakes and the braid is abundant. Stuff is so tuff they get close as they can and then cut it off. Constantly checking and cleaning. More braid than weeds, they can't kill the braid with their spray.
