Z18 is it worth going with the 175 over the 150?

I leaning really hard on a z18 pro package I’m definitely gonna add poles or tallons. Is it worth going to the 175?

Uh, yeah. Not to be smart but it works a lot easier to push the boat out of the hole and for top cruising speed.

I understand that I was wondering about the weight differences but it looks like the 175 is only 14lbs more. I’ll probably have more stupid questions. I actually want my boat set up like yours. My current boat has sold and now the search for my next one begins.

I would rather max out HP and leave out some of the accessories. Much easier to add better graphs later vs doing a motor swap later.

Decisions if I’m gonna do the Z18 with the 175 I guess I should have a good look at the Z19 with the 200 my garage depth is 23.8 deep so I should be able to fit the Z19 in it. This is gonna be a hard choice.

Yes look at the Z19 I was thinking the same way Z18 or Z19. I knew I would not be happy if I found out later that the Z19 would fit in the garage
and the Z19 runs 60 so easy and smooth. The 200 is awesome

The z19 with 200 is a v8 and more torque, I'd be all over that personally

I have a 150 4 stroke on my z18 and I never feel I need more, but you may feel differently. I also do not tournament fish and mostly fish alone.

I picked up a 2019 Z18 with a 150 XP Pro this weekend and really like the way if performs. I weight 260 with 3/4 tank of gas and a boat full of tackle and had no problems with hole shot and I hit 60 on a very hot day. I also had may brother come take a ride with me and he is 300 lbs and we had absolutely no issues getting on plane and we hit 58 on the GPS.

I have a 2009 Z7 (18' 8'') with a 150 Merc EFI. From my ten years experience fishing out of this boat, it is without a doubt underpowered. Seriously, get a 175.

I just ordered a 2021 Z19 Pro after initially considering the Z18. Out the door cost difference was about $6k the way I have it configured. I feel like I got much better value for the Z19 Pro vs the Z18 Pro. I was debating the same thing you are about a 150 or 175. From research I have done, the 175 will only be about 2 mph faster. No info on hole shot difference, but every test and review I have read says the Z18 150 hops right up on plane. Plus for the 175 is it is a V6 vs an inline 4 for the 150. But, the 175 is the only motor that uses that V6 configuration. The 115 and 150 share the 4 cylinder and the 200 and up are V8s. My buddy that is talking to them about ordering a Z18 was told that the 175 will take and extra 2 weeks if that makes a difference. Just adding this info to help you make decisions.

Thanks I’m leaning towards the Z19 pro. But now starting to look at other brands also.

I have a 2018 Z-18 with a 150 ProXs. I can hit 60 with a coangler, 1/2 tank of gas, and filled livewells, and it fully equipped with 2 poles 36V trolling motor. Hole shot is awesome. I don't see the value in the cost for another 3-5MPH as I have looked at changing the motor out.

Hello Jar Head I too am a Marine not retired but served 86-91 Desert Shield-Desert Storm. I am looking at the Z18 pro or just a Z18 and adding what I want. My question is over all are you happy with your choice and would you buy it again? I have been looking at Ranger Z185, Triton 189 and of course the Z18. Any help I would GREATLY appreciate.
