Talon: removing black screws for wires.

Got a good deal from my neighbor on a talon a couple years old. I want to remove the black screws/caps/nuts what ever they are where the wires run down so I can drop the talon lower and get maximum depth when using it. Do those pieces come out? If so how? Also, is this advisable to do so?

Raise the mounting bracket, the arm and the Talon as high as you can to prevent drag on hole-shot and to ensure they are above the water line when on plane. Lowering them might gain a few inches of depth but the side effect can be performance issue with the boat.
