    Latches on storage boxes

Bought new to me 2019 lynx, the rod locker seems to not close all the way . It latches but sticks up 1/2 inch is there a way they can be adjusted?

If they're anything like my latches, there is a set screw that you loosen then you can spin the latching mechanism however many turns you would like to either bring it closer to the lid (tighter) or move it away (looser).

I have the perko latches. https://www.basscatstore.com/chromeperkolock.aspx

The MarineTown locks are the same and the huts and stem is just larger. Polished pawl for less grab on the lip and you should be able to adjust it.

You either have the Southco or Marine Town Compression latches.
These are adjustable as stated by Dmack and BCB.

Get out you dremel and polish up the tongue the goes under the lip to secure the lid. Make sure the lip is smooth too. If the lip needs smoothed, do that by hand.

Marine Town locks have a more beefy, larger diameter shaft. They also have a cast polished pawl (arm) While Southco has a thinner stamped pawl (arm).

When my Lynx rod hatch is not sitting flush it usually means the tongue is not completely extended and needs to stick further out. It isn't reaching the right place under the deck to compress. it should be pretty close to fully extended on my Lynx.

If the nut feels tight, but the latch is still loose or sticking up, take it completely off and back on. I've had a couple nuts get off the intended thread, and when tightened get jammed up.

Is the rod locker actually closing and latching but is not sitting flush with the deck? If so, it is probably just the seal for the lid that is causing it to stick up slightly. I believe all BCB boats do that, mine does.
