Repair NRX spin rod,
I have a Loomis NRX spin rod that is in good shape except for a few boat scratches. Is there anyway to repair these without re-wrapping the whole rod?

If they are not deep scratches, try some canuba wax and gently buff them out. They aren't hurting anything but looks if they are not into the blank and just in the finish. Not worth stripping the rod to refinish it in my opinion.

For $100 dollars you can get a new rod from Loomis.

Wouldn't worry about it as it sounds just like the clear finish is scratched. To do it right you unwrap the guides make a circular rubber squeegee with a hole in it, apply light coat of semigloss, squeegee off the excess and stick it in a rod dryer. However, the light coat of permagloss does add weight. Fish it like it is or sell and buy a new one.
Thanks,

Unless you are experienced,I would stay away from anything other than trying to wax it out. It is too easy to burn the clear coat with rubbing compounds or abrasives .
