If the folks with older Tritons have not checked them for blisters I would encourage you to check. I have a 2008 TR 196 and had no indication there were any hull issues. After reading so much about it, I had it lifted and checked when having some trailer work done. The hull looks like it has cancer. There are areas of blisters that look like acne on a teenager. There are several places where the blisters have popped and glass mat is exposed about as large as a 50 cent piece. The biggest problem is at the outer board on the passenger side there are a series of gel coat cracks as long as 8" and they are intermittent for about half the bunk length. All of it is between the bunks and the hull. Nothing is visible when the boat is on the trailer. First repair estimate is approximately $4k.
