    Max 5 vs Bravo FS

My 300r is right around the corner and I keep hearing that the Max 5 is faster on these bigger gearcases (sportmaster). Anyone run both and have experience?

Max 5 is great prop if your not loading your boat to the max. Keep boat with light to med load, it’ll holeshot good and give you big top end numbers...load it down, not so great on either..I’m talking warm to hot weather..cold weather, it’s a solid prop all,the way around..cool weather it’s a great prop all the way around..pitch the bravo down just a little, it’s the best fishing prop IMO..it’ll holeshot great with heavy load, hot weather, and still run good top end numbers.

I’ll run a Max 5 29/30 when med loaded and want to run mid 90’s...loaded the boat with full fuel/water in wells, another guy, holeshot is slow, runs low- mid 80’s..if fishing heavy as described, my 28.5 bravo holeshots great, runs 84-86..with the 300R’s, it’s hard to find a prop for heavy load and top end..seems it’s either holeshot or speed..the Bravo does both good.Light to med loads, I run the Max 5 and run in the 90’s with easy..

I just sent a PT BRV5 27P to Mark for dual PVS holes... I always wanted to try a large diameter 5 blade.

Now that is an interesting prop. Any input? Seems it would be a great fit for a 300r/sportmaster

    Much cheaper than a Max 5... https://www.ptpropeller.com/powertec...peller-mercury

I hope to get it back soon enough to run next weekend.
