    yamaha jet 150

    is a yamaha jet 150 with the cowling saying 115 for insurance purposes a 150 or 115 my boat is rated for 115hp

    Technically speaking, 30% less than HP rating of motor to jet output.

    Has nothing to do with insurance.

    A jet pump is considerably less efficient than is a lower unit with a propeller. An F150 with a jet drive is the equivalent of an F115 with a propeller.
