Not a 23. I've got a worked 25 tempest plus. Worked closer to a 24 than a true 25. The 77 was in cooler weather.

Our dealer demo CX21 loaded heavy (2 blades and a 36v ultrex) will run 73-74mph with no chine walk.

Brad Krone - question..what prop are u running? I have a CX 21 with a 23 Fury. I get a little blow out coming on plane and thinking of inserting a large PVS?? I'm learning where to place the hydraulic jack plate. I've learned that Caymas like the Merc low.

    Thanks tom

do you mind sharing your set up? I just ordered a CX-21 w/ Merc but it will be coming with a 24" fury. I'm curious to know your prop to pad.

The boat is set up with a 10" Atlas jackplate. One of our managers Don has the most seat time in the boat and has experimented with a few props and pitches. He likes a 25p Tempest Plus the best. He said it lifts the boat much better then a Fury. He runs the medium vent plugs and agreed the 4 stroke OptiMax runs better set a bit lower.

Brad - thanks for the info..much apreciated.

Randy - I hve a hydralic plate and start it at 2 or 3 to get on pad. ocassionally i'll get some blow out. Thats why I might insert one large PVS to see it that helps. I'm trying to determine what level to set and forget..right now it looks like at 3.

Cx21 with Mercury 250 Pro Xs
    Fury 3BL 24P 71-73mph pushing 6k rpms jack plate 5-7 on gauge.
    Fury 4BL 24P 72-73mph 5800rpms jack-plate 5-7 on gauge.
Bravo 1 FS 23.5P 74mph 6100rpms jack plate 4-6 on gauge. Bravo felt better all around. (Have heard good things about the tempest 25)

Cx20 with Mercury 250 Pro Xs
    Fury 3BL 24P 77mph 6150rpms jack plate 5-6 on gauge
    Fury 3BL 26P 81mph 5900rpms jack plate 4-5 on gauge
Fury 4BL 24P 75.5mph 6000rpms jack plate 2-4 on gauge (Earl Bentz recommended Rev4 XP 23P-24P but haven't ran yet)

UPDATE: On Cx21 Added 2 degree wedges removed passenger console 75mph but hit 6200rpms around 73.5mph JackPlate 1-3 w/ 1 Medium PVS Plug, so going to try 25P Fury 3 and Tempest 24/25

UPDATE #2: On CX21 25P Fury Shaved by Croxton with 1 Large Vent Plug holeshot still good 76mph about 6000rpms
