i have a question regard the HB's rebooting... I have a 2017 FX LE that came with Lowrance HDS units. I just replaced my console HDS12 with a new Solix 15. When I restart the motor, the Solix with restart. If i have it in "standby mode" and I start the motor - then wake it up... then it doesn't restart. I was going to run a direct 10ga cable from the crankin battery to the Solix. I just assumed this would resolve my issue. I don't think I have a battery issue as I have a Lithium 125ah Starter battery that has 900 Cranking amps.

you posted that a capacitor will resolve what sounds like the same issue I'm having.

Right now, I have my solix wired into the Skeeter harness at the console. I'm going to bypass all that and just wire 10ga direct to battery. If I experience a restart, I guess I'll be buying the capacitor. DO you have any pictures of where you mounted the capacitor? Assume somewhere in the Starboard rear qtr panels around where the PP pumps are?

Interested in this post. I have two 12" helix, a garmin with livescope and two talons. Would be interested to see how its wired in and wondering if there are any concerns in a wet environment.

I'm also interested in this device , I've had problems with wiring problems I think My helix 12 starved for power so it finally went and I had to run a single wire to battery, now I also went threw 2 rule pumps first one seemed like it pumped 300 like not getting enough power so put replacement in months later 2nd one just stops pull it out and test it direct nothing and yes this is in a 2019 zx model .

I wanted to post an update on my previous post about my Solix 15 restarting every time I restarted the YAMAHA SHO 250. I originally installed the SOLIX at the Console using the Skeeter wiring Harness that was already there and connected to the main shut off toggle in the transom. I purchased a Pre-fabbed cable from SonarProsElectronics, which is a 10 gage wire with soldered connections from the battery post all the way to the Solix ( they ship with the Solix Power lead ). again, it's 1 complete cable and includes the fuse. My battery is a Ionic Lithium 125ah. Once I installed the new SonarPro cable, I'm getting 13.3v ( previous was 12.2 ). I wanted to post here in case anyone has a similar set up. The SonarPro cable is pretty $$$ ( $125 ) but it solved my problem and was an easy solution to install.

Working in the 12v industry for 35 years, I can promise the capacitor is a bandaid for a real problem. Not a fix.
