6000-6200, In the heat of summer if you can do 6000 you will be OK and gain 200 RPM in winter, that of course will vary with different boats.

Thanks, I have a new 2019 Z520L with less than 16 hours, running a Fury 23P three blade. Haven't taken the time to tune the PTP and prop. But, I believe it is close. Factory had the P2P really low, I have raised about 3/4" of an inch from factory (approx 5" P2P is where Ranger had it).

2B688510 2020 225 pro xs. Im running a 23p fury on my z519. Today I could only get to 5800 RPMs. Water temp 90 degrees air temp 90 as well. Is this normal for summer? Boat was running 70-71 at 5800. Also what should the operating temperatures be on these motors? My vessel view mobile was showing 138-140 degrees. There is another temperature on there as well that was around 240-260 degrees. I think this is the exhaust temperature? Are these normal?

Was likely oil temp- and yes, those are normal. It's normal with these temps to be down about 200 RPM's over what you would get in the cooler months.

The overall performance of your rig will be maximized when you get the V8 to 6200 rpms. Anything less and your leaving economy/speed/performance attributes on the table for something you just shelled out big $ for.
My Z21 rig, with a now 2 year old V8, required a true pitched 23 three blade Fury for summer and a 24 for winter to maintain the 6200 rpms.

    Running 71 at 5800 with a 23p prop with 1.75:1 ratio, that’s 2% slip. Congratulations.

Given the Fury's pitch is on the high side of the number... it's probably closer to 5% (but still quite respectable for this time of year).

Mike is correct- if you want to get the "best" performance from your engine consider getting another (lower pitch) prop for use in the warmer months (such as a 22P).
